Hi!
Welcome to my kitchen! Are you weary and worn out? Do you need a listening ear? Or maybe someone who will talk with you to help take your mind off your struggles? Then, you have reached the right place. The goal of this blog is walk alongside you as you go through life β especially the struggles that no one seems to get. If we were together and I knew you were struggling, I would invite you to sit down at my kitchen table, to relax, have something to eat, and to get that load off of your chest (or brain). Life is too precious and short to go around carrying burdens that slow us down, but sometimes they do not or cannot go away unless they are given the right kind of care. Even if the burden cannot go away entirely, it needs to be made lighter β not heavier. I have been there, and you will get to know my story as we sit and visit.
We have all struggled with something, yet there seems to be a divide between those who get it and those who do not. It is hard to find someone who will listen and not judge or who will listen and understand. We need to get in tune with ourselves, to become self-aware, so that we can lay the burdens aside and live freely. And, we need to find others who have worked to become self-aware themselves. I hope as you read that you will learn to see yourself as you are, to be discerning, and to help others heal.
So, the first thing I want to tell you is that you will make it through your struggles. Growing up, I experienced severe forms of abuse at various ages. Verbal, mental, spiritual, sexual, emotional. It all coalesced into a great big ball of pain that seemed insurmountable. Many years of counseling, praying, and crying out to God later, I am finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel. I am still a Christian. As we unwrap my story, we will unwrap yours. If I can get through what I experienced, you can get through your pain. Itβs worth it. You are worth it.
